The Dual Mode Flight Command System Software streamlines your
workload so you don't have to worry. Early on, ADR Florida discovered
there are several functions that a pilot is required to perform
in order to effectively use the Electronic Flight Bag products.
These include setting up the main menu with all the software
applications the user wanted to run, managing electronic checklists,
controlling each user's level of access, minimizing the opportunity
for system lock-up while in-flight, protecting files from unintentional
deletion or directory movement, and much more. We knew of no
existing software (including Microsoft Explorer) that would meet
our stringent requirements. ADR Florida initially created a secure
'Protective Shell Program' that ran while the pilot was in flight,
provided the user with a configurable main menu with icons, offered a
configurable pre-flight checklist, and minimized the likelihood
of 'General Protection Fault' errors. As time went on, we continued
to get feedback from pilots who used our system, saying data
was moved or deleted, their battery died unexpectedly, or they
had other workload related issues. After compiling this data
and prioritizing it we created the Dual Mode Flight Command System
Software.
